Privacy policy

How we handle your data – under the Swiss Data Protection Act (FADP) and the GDPR.

This English version is a courtesy translation; the German version prevails.

1. What this is about

This privacy policy explains which personal data we process in connection with our website and services, why we do so and what rights you have. We comply with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and – where applicable – the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

2. Controller

The controller is:
TZ Digital, general partnership
Oberbottigenrain 31, 3019 Bern, Switzerland
Email: info@tzdigital.ch

3. Visiting our website

3.1 Server log files

Our website is hosted by Infomaniak Network SA, Geneva, in Switzerland. When you visit the website, the server records technically necessary data in log files: IP address, date and time, page accessed, amount of data transferred, referrer URL, browser and operating system. This is needed to deliver the website and keep it secure. The hosting provider keeps this data only briefly (usually a few days) and then deletes it automatically. Our website software itself does not store IP addresses. Legal basis under the GDPR: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

3.2 No cookies, no trackers

We set no cookies for visitors and use no analytics, tracking or advertising tools. No social media plugins, no external fonts (our fonts are hosted on our own server), no Gravatar profile images and no embedded third-party content are loaded. No data is therefore transferred to third parties when you visit our website. WordPress only sets technically necessary login cookies when TZ Digital staff log in to the admin area.

4. Contact form

When you send us an enquiry via the contact form, we process the information you enter:

  • Name and email address (required)
  • optional: phone number, company, message
  • date and time of the enquiry and of your consent, and the website language

Purpose: solely to answer your enquiry, prepare a quote and communicate with you about your project. The enquiry is stored in our website database and we receive an email notification.

Legal basis under the GDPR: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) and pre-contractual measures at your request (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). You can withdraw your consent at any time by email; this does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.

Retention: enquiries are deleted automatically after 12 months. If a contract is concluded, we keep the data required for it as long as the law requires (e.g. 10 years for business records under Art. 958f of the Swiss Code of Obligations).

Required information: we need your name, email address and consent in order to reply.

4.1 Spam protection

To block automated spam we use an invisible check field, a timing check and a limit on the number of enquiries. For the limit we create an encrypted check value (hash) from your IP address, which is cached for no more than 10 minutes and then deleted automatically. The IP address itself is not stored and no external services (such as reCAPTCHA) are used. Legal basis: legitimate interest in website security (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

5. Contact by email or phone

If you contact us directly, we process the data you provide to deal with your request. Our emails are processed by Infomaniak Network SA, Geneva (Switzerland).

6. Processors and disclosure

We do not sell personal data or share it for advertising purposes. We use the following service providers who process data on our behalf:

  • Website hosting: Infomaniak Network SA, Geneva, Switzerland
  • Email: Infomaniak Network SA, Geneva, Switzerland

7. Transfers abroad

We process your data exclusively in Switzerland. We do not transfer personal data abroad.

8. Data security

We protect your data with appropriate technical and organisational measures: encrypted transmission (HTTPS/TLS), access restricted to authorised persons with strong passwords, regular updates and security headers.

9. Your rights

  • Access (Art. 25 FADP, Art. 15 GDPR)
  • Rectification (Art. 32 FADP, Art. 16 GDPR)
  • Erasure (Art. 32 FADP, Art. 17 GDPR)
  • Restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
  • Data portability (Art. 28 FADP, Art. 20 GDPR)
  • Objection (Art. 30 FADP, Art. 21 GDPR) and withdrawal of consent

Please write to info@tzdigital.ch. We may ask you to prove your identity. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority: in Switzerland the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC, www.edoeb.admin.ch), in the EU the authority in your country of residence or work.

10. No automated decisions

We do not make automated individual decisions or carry out profiling. We prepare quotes personally.

11. Changes

We may amend this privacy policy at any time. The version published on this page applies.
